West End Action Plan

The West End Action Plan has been developed in consultation with the community and businesses to guide future land use, projects and investment for the area bounded by Ryrie, Moorabool, Malop and Gheringhap streets.

The plan identifies a range of exciting opportunities to create a more vibrant and liveable precinct by:

• Improving existing assets
• Encouraging and supporting precinct ‘greening’
• Promoting alfresco activity
• Integrating public art
• Improving pathways and connections

Resolving challenges –

• Ensuring the Moorabool Street bus interchange works effectively for both transport users and nearby businesses
• Exploring innovative waste management systems
• Encouraging development - Promoting vertical and on-shop developments
• Protecting and celebrating Geelong’s unique heritage buildings and encouraging restoration projects
