The Laneways Project is supporting the emergence of a unique laneway culture in the area along Little Malop Street, James Street and the connecting laneways between Moorabool and Gheringhap streets.
Extensive upgrades have created a vibrant and unique entertainment, dining and retail destination. The new street design provides more space for alfresco dining and better access to services to cater for events.
Geelong’s laneways have been revitalised with bluestone paving, improved lighting, bespoke street furniture, and new trees and plants. Striking public artworks, as well as a new public projector system add to the precinct’s sophisticated yet relaxed ambience.
We’re exploring what new features would further the improve the precinct and make sure it remains fresh and attractive for businesses, locals and visitors to central Geelong.
