Stage one of the Malop Street Green Spine project between Moorabool Street and Yarra Street is ahead of schedule and the road is due to reopen tonight, Friday 22 June 2018.
Construction teams will commence removing barriers and bollards in preparation for the road to reopen. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist with pedestrian movement during the day and will be situated at the mid-block crossing for the opening of the road. Remaining work for the week of 25 June, is to paint green the bike lane on the north side of the road. This work is scheduled to be done overnight on Thursday 28 June, weather permitting. In the meantime, the bike lane will be operational with the opening of the road and has been identified with cycling icons, as well as with temporary pavement stickers and signage. There may be some other minor activity on site during the week if required. As part of the construction process, defect rectification work is carried out for up to 12 months after project completion. If any defects are identified, they will be completed promptly with minor disruption. If any substantial work is required, we will issue additional updates.
